TRIO - Castle Rock is leading the effort to enhance traveler information in the states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont through an innovative partnership between the public and private sector. Using rural deployment experience and proven technologies developed by Castle Rock, the Tri-State Rural Advanced Traveler Information System (TRIO) project is developing and deploying advanced traveler information systems. The project is employing Internet technologies to improve traveler mobility, enhance economic development for the area and enrich the overall experience of travelers.

CARS - 511 - Condition Acquisition and Reporting System for 511 Traveller Information Services
CARS-511 is a voiceXML-based traveller information reporting system that provides callers with real-time construction, accidents, road conditions and delays via an easy-to-remember three-digit telephone number: “5-1-1”. CARS-511 requires no additional data input because it uses information directly from CARS.

Amber Alerts - The Amber Plan is a voluntary, cooperative program between the law enforcement community and the broadcast media to send an emergency alert to the public when a child has been abducted and is believed to be in danger. Castle Rock is deploying a module to be known as CARS-Amber. CARS multi-state travel information databases will allow any authorized law enforcement personnel to enter an Amber Alert from any location within the state, thus automating the currently lengthy data entry process.

Websites - The display of traveler information on the Internet is a concept that has grown in popularity and usefulness. Castle Rock has worked with several Departments of Transportation to develop an effective mechanism for displaying traveler information on the Internet.
