Castle Rock was the first
to develop ITS for Commercial Vehicle Operations, starting 1984 with the
western ‘Crescent’ states Heavy Vehicle Electronic License Plate program
(HELP), and continuing with the east coast I-95 Coalition. Now, we are
leading the way with the North American International Trade Corridor (NAITC)
truck traveler information system deployments linking Canada and
Mexico, across eleven mid-western states. CVO is more than regulation;
we can help our nation’s truckers do business.

NAITC - North American
International Trade Corridor
Castle Rock has been selected to lead the development of an Advanced
Traveler Information System (ATIS) pilot deployment for the North American
International Trade Corridor, covering eleven states from Mexico to Canada.
The pilot deployment will demonstrate integrated and cost-effective ATIS
technologies, including Low Power FM (LPFM) Radio, 511 Traveler Information,
Internet traveler information website, and Variable Message Signs. The
system will be powered by the Condition Acquisition and Reporting System
(CARS).
Nevada I-80 Corridor - ITS
Strategic Deployment Plan for the I-80 / US-395 Corridor Study Project
A study was performed on Nevada's I-80/US 395 Corridor to recommend
applicable ITS deployments considering the unique geographical and rural
characteristics of the region. The corridor is nearly 500 miles, linking
California with Utah. The corridor sees a significant amount of commercial
vehicle and recreational traffic through the several mountain passes and
wide valleys that I-80 spans.
New Mexico
District IV - ITS Strategic Plan
North-eastern New Mexico plays a vital role in the national economy with two
major cross-country truck corridors passing through it. This project focuses
on the development of an ITS Strategic Plan focused on low‑cost rural
solutions that manage traffic, disseminate travel information and integrated
with the state-wide ITS and CVO plans. The second phase of this project
focuses on developing the design documents for the procurement and
deployment of the proposed infrastructure within the strategic plan. |
